About

I’m Mark, a documentary and educational video editor/producer in Greater NYC with 15 years of experience.

E-learning has been my bread and butter for the past 8 years while building Big Think+, a leadership development platform featuring Navy SEALs, Fortune 500 CEOs, and Emmy Award-Winning actors. I’ve served as a creative editor for viral videos that have earned over 10 million views, as a co-director of post-production who built, trained, and lead a team of editors to remake our video courses—which helped 4x the product’s revenue in the first two years after an acquisition—and more recently, as a supervising producer overseeing director-editor teams.

My doc-style commercial videos, which include pieces for Renaissance Hotels, BU, Sabra, Ruder Finn, and the New York Rangers, in addition to my work at MSG Networks, have earned a New York Emmy Award and multiple Telly Awards and have allowed me to explore a range of industries, including health & wellness, sports, and entrepreneurship.

I've also edited and directed one feature documentary, H.O.P.E. Was Here, which streamed on Amazon Prime and Hulu, played at several international film festivals, and continues to screen at universities worldwide.

I studied film and television at Boston University’s College of Communication, where I fell in love with nonfiction visual storytelling.

Midway through my career I discovered my second love: teaching. That’s why I started Rising Editor, a blog that helps editors launch and grow their careers.
